I don't know if it's an actual requirement (in UAE it is), but it will normally save a couple of Txmissions. No, you don't have to say "We are on hand over". If you have not been handed over, you're not on the freq. Maybe in India, but not here.
-What if Bahrain could see us without "Squawk Ident"? The rest of the world can, so why not you?
