On an admin issue how does the aircraft stand in respect of its registration. Who is the AOC for it and will it have to leave the UK on another register?
It would make sense for her to go 9L- Sierra Leone like her sister.
I understand that Sierra Leone has taken on responsibility for the State of Design functions for the Belfast including type certification. This is why the other Belfast is on the Sierra Leone register. As you may be aware, all Sierra Leone registered aircraft in the UK are subject to a Direction to prevent flying (and all Sierra Leone AOC holders are banned from operating in the EC). I have difficulty in believing any state other than Sierra Leone will register the aircraft and issue an CofA on the basis of a Sierra Leone type certificate. If it is registered in Sierra Leone it will not be permitted to fly.
