OK Ziva, since the others won't give you the true story I will try to do it in as brief a way as possible. GF is as good and as bad an employer as any other in the Gulf. The lifestyle is what you make it and the salary compared to others is reasonable. It's important to remember Bahrain is still the cheapest place to live in the Gulf. On the subject of housing, yes it could be better and the allowance is not as much as it should be. There are moves to improve this but nothing in stone yet. The one area where there is a serious shortfall is in education allowance. The allowance will probably only pay 30% of the total you need to spend. With one child it is possible to survive and even save a little. There are plenty of FO's doing just that and they are still happy. If you have more than one child however DO NOT come to GF as it is not possible to educate them here, schooling is stupidly expensive for 2 or more kids. I feel sure that with 3 kids you will be in negative earnings. You will be given the facts and all the numbers (costs) you need at the interview. Nothing will be hidden from you and AM goes out of his way to explain how it really is. It's not in anyones interest to hide stuff like that and they will not do it. Once again with one child it can be done on FO's salary so if you have a chance to come here take it!!
