Well, I thought you had to have some kind of check-out to use NVG VFR in a helicopter. I remember Bell offering an NVG transition course i Florida.
Having read through this entire thread - with many laughs - my interest was awakened. The guy is apparently from my country, so...
Anyway, I found a reference to his record flight in an R44 on a website marketing NVG. Turns out he used NVG all the way (or claims he did).
Any comments? Can anyone jack on an NVG-kit on their flight helmets and take off in total darkness? My guess is not, but I don't really know.
