However, in any legal action the Court may direct discovery from the parties, which may include a user’s posts, profile, IP addresses and any other information PPRuNe may hold on the user.
The name(s) used are totally irrelevant – I could register a particular person’s name as a user name and appear to be that individual, however that identity must still be proven in a Court of Law.
PPRuNe vigorously protects user’s identities and personal information, but is unable to refuse to disclose information if directed by a Court. The same applies to all internet bulletin boards – not just PPRuNe.
Post responsibly. If you would not post something in your own name, don’t post it in your PPRuNe user name. One day you may be required to justify your post!
