Cabin Boy,
I wouldn't get too het up Mate, the topic deviated rather quickly to the heart of the matter. What we earn is irrelevant, we do different jobs with different responsibilities (one of which is to drag unconscious techies from the f/d and push them down the slide in an emergency evacuation) and different methods of remuneration. Big companies pay the big bucks and small companies the not so big ones.
The key to it all of course is to negotiate as a group, preferably by being unionised. (but that is a personal opinion of course

)
It is quite obvious to most people that individuals have little power and the thread on the pilots forum - quickly identified the problem, and it isn't that we are overpaid, it is that others are not paid enough.
Just a thought:
Denigrating anyone's job because it's not your 'cup of tea'(pun intended) only creates animosity on the aircraft and that achieves nothing.
