The approach limitation, I believe, means that the aircraft has to demonstrate a stabilised, still-air 7.5 degree capability before it is allowed to do the 5.5 degree slope required at LCY. Not a lot of jets can do that. The A318 went to LCY a few months ago to prove the software works and achieve certification and now Airbus will be looking for customers who require a greater payload or range out of LCY.
