Thats exactly the point. You had guys last year flying 100 hours (+/-) a month for 9 -10 months and then being unavailable to fly for the rest of the year as they were maxed out in terms of the annual (900hr) limit. So you had guys flying exhausted and burnt out and then having three months off and not earning a steady income.

This is were the FTLs are an ass. A long haul pilot taking off from London flying to East Coast America does the same block time as a RYR pilot doing 4 sectors with a 25 min turnaround in the middle. Which do you think is harder? Yet the FTLs make no allowances for these differences.
