What a load of C**P. If you think your son doesn't have anything to do in his Airbus then you are sadly mistaken. That aircraft will bite his backside just like any other.
There are Airbus pilots and there are Airbus pilots. Those that just sit there and think that the aircraft will look after itself (these sort rarely become captains and are fools) and those that stay alert and have to work harder than conventional pilots to maintain their raw airmanship and flying skills (these ones may actually save your life one day).
The Airbus is a great tool that rarely goes wrong and has some great features. When things start to go wrong, however, then quick thinking, good flying skills and airmanship are essential to save the day. I hope your son is working hard to prepare himself for his moment of fame or shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
