I know you didn't ask about this part of the world but for anyone interested in the UAE ACC, the tax free annual salary is on todays exchange rate $144,000 Ozzie = $107,800 USD. Yes you will pay about $20,000 USD of that out to rent a 3 bedroom flat or about $30,000 plus to rent a villa, but still very good money compared to Oz.
(and I am guessing !!!!su Tonka when you say basic tax that is Income tax only and doesn't include GST, medicare levies, stamp duty, state sales tax on fuel, cigarettes and grog etc etc. Typing that reminds me why I left)
