Would you hand this in or keep it?

right - annoyed SLF here. Was on the final leg of a long journey on friday the 29th of Sept . I was with Aer Arann on board flight 217 to sligo from Dublin intending to visit a friend in hospital there. I was seated on the ATR beside a fairly drunk Lady who was keen to talk. I was knackered and didn't want to engage in converstation so I took my Playstation Portable out and listened to some music. The drunk lady continued to chatter to me, despite the fact that I had headphones in. As we started our descent, a member of CC asked if I would turn that off for landing. I did this in a bit of a fluster whilst the drunko continued to tell me about her life. When we landed I just wanted to get away from this person and when she moved towards the front of the aircraft to get a bag - I made a hasty escape out down the back and off the aircraft. It was literally 15 minutes later, whilst sitting in a cab I realised I left my PSP in the pocket of seat 4a. I immediately turned back to the Airport (as the ATR took off for Dubiln again).
At the check in desk in Sligo I asked whether the PSP had been handed in. After a brief search it was a negative response. The lady was helpful and advised me to ring Dublin as someone will find it in the pocket and hand it in.
I rang dublin and alas - no luck.
Now - here's the question. The Air Hostess on the flight down - does she give the aircraft a bit of a clean for the 15 mins it is sitting on the tarmac in Sligo or are there cleaners? I would assume as professional cabin crew members that if they did find an valuable item they would had it in to lost & found?
Am I naive?
Next - as pax if you found a Camera, or MP3 player or PSP in a pocket at your seat, would you hand it in? Many moons ago when I was a student and worked in EI cleaning planes for summers, anytime we found anything valuable in the pockets we were delighted, why? Because it meant we had the joy of nearly an hour round trip to Lost & found and no work! It was never even a consideration to pocket anything.
Have times changed so much that people can be so dishonest?
Am I just naive? - Granted - my bad for leaving the thing behind me, but it has happened to us all. The thing that really annoys me is that I had a gb memory card in the PSP with loads of Photo's of myself and my mate I was visiting, on holidays together in '95. We had lost them and this was my get well gift.
