It's called small man syndrome. Being the smallest of the 3 services with several of their major projects in the balance, the demise of the fixed wing part of the FAA, not much contribution in current conflicts etc etc they feel the need to make themselves feel better by baiting the other services and calling themselves 'The Senior Service' as often as possible and trying to have a disproportionate representation on Military Aircrew forums!
Just try and humour them please!
Did you know that we currently have 52% of the total manpower in Iraq? Plus we have just taken over Herrick with the RMs? Amazing, the public also assume that if it flies, it's RAF, if it wears combats, it's the Army.
