Thumbs up

Cloud Nine,
Thats not always true.
When I first got in to the industry I was employed by Ansett as a short haul F/A. A year later Qantas long haul advertised and I applied for them as a joke with my friend as I thought there was no way they would want me ( only 21, no second language, never been overseas in my life) - and they did. <img src="eek.gif" border="0">
Maybe I was just lucky getting in first time for both airlines. I put it down to the competition on the day. Now people are so much more prepared when they go for the interviews the company's have a greater selection of candidates.
And also I think it's a good idea to be keen but not too keen. I remember they asked us what we would do if we didn't get in. I told them I already had a great job and that I would return to that happily. The others all said they wouldn't know what to do as this was their dream job and nothing else would do.
They didn't get the job!
Persistance is the key. Stay motivated and positive and keep improving your skills.
My cousins husband tried for 7 years to get in to Qantas. He'd get to the last interview and then nothing. He's now been flying 10 years and is a CSM.

Go for your dreams but keep living your lives.
