I'll echo that! I did my BA course almost five years ago. About four days after September 11th
Despite that the course still went ahead and the BA staff that accompanied us all were absolutely brilliant. Indeed the guy who ran the course was unsure of his employment as BA decided to get rid of their 747-200s in the wake of the tragedy in the US,despite this he still took the classroom work with us,top man. During the two weeks we worked at check-in,dispatch,ground crew, had a couple of jump seat flights to Europe, did a day of cabin crew training and had the oppurtunity to fly the 747 simulators. The pilots in the sims also ran through a few emergency scenarios like decompression and high speed rejected take off-gave a good insight into what the flight crew workload was like during an emergency. Also able to visit the crisis room which was being used at the time, and listen in to the meetings going on.
I was sure that this would be one of the parts of training that would be binned due to cost-cos' I'm sure it isn't cheap-but glad to see it's still going. I found it informative and it was also great fun!
