We're still waiting to hear officially from BALPA (how bad is that????) on the outcome of negotiations.

However, from one of our CC it looks like we're being offered 1 DFOD converted to a day off (which is a no cost option for the company) and given the option to put the taxable element of our sector pay into our pension to avoid paying tax on it - again a no cost option for the company even though they have generously said they will pay any NI due on taxable sector pay into the pension.

BALPA Gen Sec said in his newsletter that there was "a major shift in BMI Baby" and "a substantially new proposal for members to consider". In my opinion the above concessions don't fall into this category.

Whilst the CC are sworn to secrecy, it appears the company are pleading poverty again. This simply doesn't wash when they continue to pay management profit bonuses.

Assuming we get to vote on the proposal it will need to be a lot more substantial than this to secure a yes vote.
