Thumbs down

I wonder how many of you really have any understanding of how a recruitment agency works.

No I do not not work for Kelly Aviation. Yes I do know the guy who set the agency up, and I have attended interviews which he has arranged and been offered jobs as a result and I am currently working for a company who offered me a job as a result of an interview set up by Kelly's.

Kelly Aviation is the only truly specialised agency in the UK that deals with operations/dispatch staff plus many other facets of aviation.

The guy in question has his finger very much on the pulse as to what is happening within the UK/Europe market. He has contracts with major UK charter carriers at least one major UK scheduled operator plus many other operations support service companies.

As you may or may not be aware he runs the Aviation division on his own and spends much time travelling and arranging placements, which can sometimes be a lengthy process because as with everything else these deals are subject to cost agreement.

Any job advertised is likely to be so on the basis that the contract has been agreed or that the employer wants to see a selection of CV's to see just who is out there.

In addition if you are finding that messages are not being returned, is it not wise to think that when any positive news is available you will be informed. You don't honestly expect someone to spend their time on the phone letting people know there is nothing to tell them at present? Hardly quality time management, eh!

I suggest you draw your necks in, and for those of you suggesting setting up on your own it might be wise to remove the cynicism chip your carrying.

I don't think any of you would last 5 minutes if you think the business is money for old rope.

Kind Regards

Odin
