It would seem that common sense has at last prevailed and the hot heads who were spoiling for a strike will not (hopefully) get their way.Strikes do not benefit either side and always leave a bad taste in the mouth, sensible discussion is the only way to get a long lasting solution to the legitimate issues that caused this situation, while it is true that threats of action seem to have convinced the management that they cannot afford to ignore the issues that the pilot workforce have raised,it is also true to say that many of us cannot afford to lose our jobs if the airline were to fold due to strikes actually taking place. It would be easy to say that talk of the company going down the tubes is fanciful BS or "management spin" but in an industry like ours that has lurched from one downturn or crisis to another in the past few years I would not like to bet my pension on it not happening, let us now hope that the same common sense will be applied by both sides in Regional and Mainline and that we all work together on the task of getting the company back on track, profitable and back to being the decent employer it used to be
