I'll suggest a better location ..... with hugely spectacular scenery, a proven infrastructure and experience of hosting large international events.... and on the day...... better weather

Loch Lomond in Scotland. World-beating backdrop.

This year I journeyed down from Glasgow with 2 potential young aviators. Took us 3 hrs in a 172 to fly in to Wing Farm (Thanks Earl for such a friendly welcome). We stayed in a B+B 10 miles from Longleat and it took us 4 HOURS to travel that distance on the Saturday morning.

To sum it up - the organisers got greedy.

They obviously thought "60000 in 2005 ? oooh let's make a bit more this year and cram in another 66%"

Wrong.

Road management was non-existent, no marshallers at significant junctions to 'keep it moving'.

Folks at home got more info (and video of the previous days practice) from Channel 4 than the wishful thinking we all got in the crowd.

Well done to Paul Bonhomme for the fastest time on Friday, and thanks to all who came out to sign autographs.

Hope you come up to Scotland for the next one !!
