This rumour is absolute rubbish.
QF want more A380's to build a premuim operation to LAX and also LHR via SIN and HKG. They want a fleet of about 20-24 that will also allow 1 or 2 other high premium high frequency ports (LHR or FRA via PVG anyone?) or another in the USA.
Anything else in the QF network is up for grabs by J* using the 787.
The 380 is the only bit of a future that QF mainline can look forward to.
If you want a real good rumour, how about J* Int being initially a wetlease by QF A330. Seems the J* T&C's can't attract many (if any) suitable applicants and also the 180 ETOPS approval may be a bit easier.
