Some more news

From the Air Cargo News Old Boys network...

ON 25 July, 2006, Jackson Aviation has acquired the shares of the MK Airlines Group, in partnership with Mike Kruger.

In order to become a British registered cargo carrier, MK has been completing the requirements of the UK CAA over the last 18 months. This included the technical requirements for EASA 145 Maintenance Organisation Approvals (achieved in August 2005), and following various legal requirements completion of the final proving flight (on 17 August, 2006), which demonstrated to the UK CAA the technical and operational competence of the airline, which in turn resulted in the issue of the UK AOC on 18 August.

On 22 August, MK also met the financial, ownership and control criteria, which resulted in the issue of the operating and route licences completing the requirements for MK Airlines to become a British carrier for the carriage of cargo.

Mike Kruger, chef executive officer said: "Our first Boeing 747 aircraft to be registered, which was formerly 9G-MKQ, now re-registered as G-MKAA undertook her first revenue flight for the company on 23 August, 2006. This is an extremely proud milestone in our history and the achievement which has taken nearly two years, now secures our long-term future and has resulted from the combined efforts and hard work of the shareholders, board, management and staff over this period. My sincere thanks are due to all member of MK Airlines who have been instrumental in achieving our UK AOC and licences."
