VC10 celebrates 40 years in service
Source:MoD Defence Contracts BulletinUK - A special colour scheme has been designed to celebrate the fortieth year of continuous RAF service of the VC10.
‘Forty years of RAF service’ is emblazoned across the fin of XV104, a Vickers VC10 CMk1K, of 101 Squadron RAF Brize Norton.
The Vickers VC10 entered service in 1966 and has seen active service in almost every major conflict since that date. A highly versatile and durable platform, it operates in air refuelling, passenger transport, freight and aero-medical roles and is a key asset in the RAF logistic capability.
