It seems to me that, more than any other flying job I've seen so far, they live in each other's pockets for the full 3 years. They rely on the other members' support and morale as well as their abilities every day which is why the personal selection aspect is so important. If you can't rub by with the other chaps then it damages the team. Not an old boys club so much as a survival mechanism. (Perhaps a touch dramatic
