What I understand is that it is basically a problem for the married guys due to high schooling-, accommodation- and leisure costs for the familiy. EK should maybe do something in this regard. Only happy pilots(families) make safe pilots.
On the other hand I can not believe that a bachelor EK First Officer has a money or status problem. Earning 4 times more than a EK cabin crew member incl. better benfits.
When I started out as MD-80 copilot in one of the richest and most expensive countries in the world I earned approx. 7000 dirham per month same salary as junior cabin crew in this particular airline(now you can imagine how good the status was).
Working for a different airline now , approx.11000 dirham per month, tax. around 20%, etc.
Any EK bachelor around who wants to exchange jobs?
Just let me know
Somebody could say
