I don't think it's true to say that when you worked for TCX that they were "were getting fed up of experienced F/Os pestering them about when they would get a shot at command....."
You and I know full well that there were neither Commands available for anyone, or indeed jobs for the likes of you and I.
To everyone else,
The FACT is this.... TCX want to reduce salaries paid. Cadets do just that.
If you have much experience, forget TCX. You WILL wait 12 years or more for a command. And even then, it will be summer only.
Join someone who will be around in 15 years, like easy, BA or Virgin. Note, not TCX, First Choice, Thomson or My Travel.
On the plus side, there will be plenty of F/O jobs in TCX, because loads of people are looking to leave. GOOD LUCK.
