Avion Group is the world´s largest ACMI operator providing wide and narrow bodied aircraft leasing services to other airlines needing spare capacity on an ACMI basis. With its fleet of approximately 40 aircrafts (29 x Boeing 747, 4 x Boeing 757, 5 x Boeing 767, 17x Boeing 737, 2x Airbus 310, 6x Airbus 300-600), the company's mission is to be the first choice for any carrier requiring such capacity, and as a result it is continuously modernising and upgrading the fleet for improved customer service.
On 1 January 2005, Air Atlanta Icelandic and Islandsflug merged under the name Air Atlanta Icelandic. Air Atlanta Icelandic leases aircraft on an ACMI (Aircraft, Crews, Maintenance, and Insurance) basis to airlines needing extra capacity. Air Atlanta is registered and headquartered in Iceland, a member of the pan-European Joint Aviation Authorities. Together with Islandsflug, the company is the largest passenger ACMI airline in the world and is one of Iceland's largest companies. The airline has received several awards for its achievements including the President of Iceland's Export Award in recognition of the remarkable advancement for export commerce and currency compilation for the Icelandic nation.
Our main ACMI customers are - Virgin Atlantic Airways, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, Air France, Air Algerie, Channel Express, DHL Airways, Iberia, Air Gabon, Corsair, TravelCity, Lufthansa, Cargolux, Air Asia, Excel Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Southern Winds, Air Hong Kong, Avia Jet TNT and Trans Mediterranean Airways.
We have provided some key figures for the ACMI activities below, however they represent the activities and companies that formed the ACMI activities as of end December 2004 i.e. Air Atlanta Icelandic (92,912:15 block hours in 2004) and Islandsflug (37,943:23 block hours in 2004).
