TowerDog - Miami Air was set up by the people who kept on working at EAL. They built up a hugely successful operation without an ALPA rep in sight; and I believe (though am open to correction) they sold it on a few years back for a massive profit.
On the other hand, you have Pride Air which was set up by a bunch of ALPA guys who were fired by CO in the first dispute with Lorenzo and they set up a 727 operation out of MSY. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long.
