Having been involved very heavily in the selection of trainee ATCOs (interviews etc) in a previous life and having tried some of these counfounded bloody tests myself, I would venture that either your brain has the capacity to reason its way through them or it doesn't.
Personally, despite a lot of practice, I was useless at them and I suspect that no amount of studying text books would significantly improve the average persons chances of doing better.
Don't let that put you off though, I made it and so did many others who have ale soaked fluff where brain cells should be.
