RE flightplans/ copies of maps whatever means was used to record intentions, for the want of a better word lets call them a mudmap herein so you are saying that there was a mudmap left for a high route that required good weather but no mudmap when the met forecast indicated a significant icing limitation for the HC2 Chinook?

If you were there, you were presumably familiar with the route to the Mull and the turn up the coast
Great Glen, etc at low level was this not the usual and expected route for such a ferry flight and it would not have been the case, as you say, that
they would have flown at height if the weather was better
?
