As of today, you can't even take out the battery and take it in carry-on. (not from UK airports anyway) No worries though as the holds in aircraft are equipped with smoke detectors and extinguishers so the fire would be out out before it spread to anything more important than your laptop, your clothes, and the suitcases immediately adjacent to yours
