I know there have been a lot of posts on this before.
I have just been down there and did an hour in a 172 and an hour in the PA18 on amphibs. Super experience, marvellous place, great atmosphere, nice instructors, very welcoming. If in doubt, go and do it -- you won't rgeret it. You can pull up to the beach at Hotel San Giorgio in Lenno and have a drink or lunch.
They have 172s on straight floats -- dogs, esp in the heat
PA18-150 with a 180hp on amphibs -- lovely
