LTNman, thanks for the link to the annual report. I see that they make a classic mistake of using an acronym without explanation. In the Preface, (v) 'The Leq contours are produced...'
Whilst I can understand what they are talking about, I should like to know the acronym. Convention (and politness
) says that an acronym should be stated in full on the first occasion that it is used in a document. So this is irritating and makes me doubt the rest of it. Does that seem over the top? This is a document that has been produced to communicate and if the staff cannot follow the basic rules of established practice, then they should not be doing this!
