I did my work experience at Gatwick in 1996, refuelling a/c. It was one of the best experience's I've had at an airport (must be the smell of fuel hehe!).
It was so good, I was allowed to go back about 3 separate times later after the inital work experience week (including some night work!).
Seeing fuel cap's frozen to the apron and unable to loosen, by the use of a cro-bar just added to the experience! (expect the unexpected!).
Hope you have a good one what ever you choose to do. I would personally prefer to be more "involved" with THE a/c than going into an ATC Centre, but everyone has different tastes.
