"not many people get through the standardization"
Not true.
95% pass.
The ones that don't get through can be neatly placed in one of the following boxes. They:
1) are not prepared to digest and learn by rote the very detailed SOPs - not willing to put in the work
2) have trouble pattering and flying at the same time - not good instructors. Average maybe, but not good.
3) have trouble flying accurately - not good pilots
4) have substantial instructional experience but have a strong preference for doing it 'their 'way, and are not sufficiently motivated to learn the CSWAFC way - not flexible
5) have some combination of the above - not employable by CSWAFC
If you are willing to work quite hard for the week that standardisation takes and have the 'right' attitude, you will be fine.
For those that are willing to put in the work, this is a very rewarding job. You get solid hours and, for GA, good money. And job satisfaction.
And that's not all bad.
