I flew for zimex from 92 to 96, so my info might be a little out/o/date, but what I can say is that as a begining of a carrier it was just the good job. Lot's of adventures, lot's of flying, lot's of interresting people, lot's of jerks as well but hek, that's part of it isn'it? - Anyway, I was based in Angola and in Algeria, as a DHC-6 pilot. Was paid around 5000swiss francs/ month...Tell me what kind of DHC-6 driver position can match this(And I was an F/O at that time!) was working 8 weeks on /4 off, paid off-shore always on time. Aicraft was in good condition, always an engineer with the aircraft on any operations. I've done some goofy things for them but flying under those conditions put you some day on the verge, you just got to accept it, ortherwise you go fly air-france (-).
I don't know where they operate now, but for sure stil in northern africa for oil companies, some contract on 5 weeks on 5 weeks off. Don't hesitate to contact them, and give it a try, it's the best to know...I enjoyed my time with them, but must admit that after a while it's good to lok for something else.
