There was actually somebody at MDN when I was there that was a non-drinker. He hated every second of his time there, but he was focused on what he wanted (build hours and save money), and he eventually got what he wanted

There were several others who never socialised with us on weekends, rather drive to Perth whenever they could. There was no JT base then and we were allowed use of the company bus for our personal outings, so often we would all go to the Big Smoke for the weekend

If you don't run amuck in MDN, you will go crazy, but there is NO WAY I would have lived at the airport had the accomodation been built then!
