That's impossible to answer because you haven't said what you already have! Presumably, since you are approaching the end of the ATPL theoretical knowledge, you hold an ICAO PPL but what about the CPL?...IR?...MEP?

The type of device used for the MCC course is totally irrelevant - the important thing is the quality of instruction and the currency of the instructors.
You must hold a valid (i.e re-validated in the last 12 months) MEIR on the day that you commence training for your first multi-pilot aeroplane type rating. (JAR-FCL 1.250(a)(2))
