Cross runway ops
I'm posting here to find out what other people think about this procedure. I was at an aerodrome the other day and was surprised to find they were conducting simultaneous runway operations on two separate runways. Let's say they were 36 and 27 - i.e. 90 degrees to each other. 1000 ft circuits were being carried out on 27 and arrivals and departures on 36. The wind favoured 27. This is at an uncontrolled aerodrome.
It all seemed to work out, but I can't help wondering if there is an accident waiting to happen here?
