Flanker,

thanks for sharing your experience. I can totally relate to you, as anything but a professional operation would be inaccaptable to me, aswell. I donīt know what operator you worked for (canīt think of too many similar operations) but I will send you an email so maybe we can exchange some more information. Itīs a shame there are so many unprofessional operators out there.. .I think with a company the size of NetJets and all the money they are investing in initial and recurrent training at flight safety there would have to be SOPīs that they strictly adhere to...!?

wondering,

yes you are right: thatīs where I fly. I have not considered applying for Daimler Chrysler Aviation for several reasons: I have heard itīs not the best company to work for, I donīt want to move again, just now. They use the DLR for pilot selection. If I had passed all their tests Iīd be flying for Lufthansa <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> . .DCA had several ads for flightcrews in a german aviation mag over the last couple of years. If it was that great a company they wouldnīt have to advertise their jobs that often, I think. But the bottom line is: They donīt offer the roster and base-flexibility that NetJets has. Infact nobody else does. Thatīs why Iīm not going to apply anywhere else I think! At the end of the day: out of all the flying jobs in Germany mine has to be one of the better ones: descent pay, stable roster, no hotels, home every night, 11 days off guaranteed, plus approx 5 days standbys (usually not called), usually 4 sector days, sometimes only 2.. .But, as said before: Itīs just a little boring at times and I might not want to live in Germany forever. Oh, before people jump at me: I know I wonīt be home every night flying for NetJets and I would spend quite some time in hotels around Europe. But thatīs fine with me. I was just trying to say that I know that lotīs of people would like to have the "boring" life im currently living.
