Ok, all that Aussie garble behind us? Back to the original question ......

If you really must have something, go for the Stormscope. The ONLY reason I say that is because they are cheaper and you won't be looking at it much.

We have a wx radar in our SPIFR aircraft and I hardly have the need to turn it on.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, if it saves you once it's worth it. I agree. But the wx radar for a VFR single engine machine? Forget it.

If you really must have a wx radar, go for a multi-function display. That way you can interface GPS, TCAS, Wx radar, terrain avoidance, etc. into it. KMD 550 or MX-20 are the two I have used and they are great.

In the end, it's up to you!
