Flight Engineers are a bit of a rarity these days......... one person i know was an Engineer ( Licenced ) applied took a few weeks cours and was excepted on tristars or dc10 thingies by a company, they got rid of the fleet but offered to put him through his pilots training and now he is a first officer with him......... as for going as a flight eng, you will be pushed to find a position as i said, there aint many left.
