Automation will always be there but in the "unlikely" event that it becomes unavailable then manual fying will save your life. But if you haven't been practising it or tried it then you could find your self in a big tin of soup with no meat
whenn you are called upon to fly manually. Besides nothing beats flying an a/c manually especially without a F/D on a clear day. That's why we are called pilots not programmers..................................
