Fair enough e86. One thing on your well founded fear here though, the current NVG technology transfer restrictions from the USA are such that ONLY govt departments are expected to have access to it. Hopefully that will provide a bit of operating experience in Oz with which to better decide if NVG should be expanded to all ops, or restricted to EMS Law.
