many thanks for your reply - I do appreciate what you are saying about crew rest etc. However as a regular SOU user these delays are all too common yet Flybe seem unable to either do much about preventing them or recover quickly when things do go pear shaped. A sign perhaps that their resources are stretched to a point where if things do go wrong it will cascade and still be felt 2 or 3 days after the original problem.
Many of the people on the return flight were also on the outbound flight on Saturday and were not impressed at being delayed again.
