Its about asking the right questions Tom. Plenty of other people knew that pensionable pay was less than basic, it's doesn't seemed to have sneaked up on anyone but you.

I would simply say that whilst you think robbing Peter to pay Paul may be a great revenge option, Peter is going to remain in the majority for the next 15 years at least and you'll have to work with him whether you like it or not.
