Ah - the good old magnetic Mendlesham mast! Happy days - of spotting the glint of a low level F-104's wings from above and roaring down to catch him in one of 56F's finest F-4s. Tucked in behind with him squarely in range in the LCOSS as we crossed Stowmarket going rather well and rather low! Of getting airborne straight into a furball with 4 Harriers doing an airfield attack and scattering them like confetti by aiming at the middle of them! Of chasing off after 2 Tornados as they flew down the runway.....500KIAS and Fox 2 x 2 for the Taceval film debrief (MCS hadn't come on line in time, so they were visual 'winder kills!), then off to check in with Neat as C400! Of airfield attacks for the benefit of the Bloodhound folk - until Jonthany went a bit too low and a bit too fast and shook OC Ops off his perch in the tower!

And you liked us doing all that and making East Anglia shake and quake? Wish we'd known at the time!

So sorry that all you get nowadays is the clatter of the dung-eaters in their infernal egg-beaters.
