Andy Strange, an executive member of Luton Borough Council, with special responsibility for transport stated: "...The East Luton Corridor will ease local traffic congestion and aid the regeneration of the town."
He's kidding of course?? Firstly, there's absolutely
no improvement to LTN's road access from/to the A505 and A1(M) to the east - at least not in the medium-term; and as for regenerating the town of Luton, it'll take slightly more than £40M over two years to reverse decades of decline, degradation and Council disinterest. Oh, and by the way, perhaps Mr Strange could explain exactly what happened to the (surprisingly) sensible proposal to include a fly-over junction at the M1's Junction 10A - that's allegedly, been binned...??
Luton Borough Council's transport & regeneration plan? Don't make me
