Clint, thanks. On my holidays from school in Dorset, I spent a huge amount of time in the confines of HMS Gannet where my father was serving (middle 50s before the IRA started again) especially with ATC. When offered flights in the Avenger and Dragonfly helo (I know that would never happen these days) I readily accepted.
I am not a journo but just someone who was lucky enough to have a pretty free rein around a RNAS. Also with my father serving on HMS Ocean prior Korea and visits to HMAS Albatross (I think) in Nowra Oz wher he also served, gave me a fascination with all things flying. I have albums of Grumman Avengers, Gannets and Mk5 Firelfy but no Mk 9.
Not a matter of life or death but just an small obsession!
