i-tunes ?? Problems hearing my tunes

Hi guys,

Having finally downloading i-tunes i have added most of my cd's into my i-tunes library.

However when i play them they sound all distorted and echoey. Initially I thought it was because my speakers were rubbish but even with headphones the tunes are barely recognisable.

Anyone know what is going on??
