Whilst Medlink may be looking after it from your end, when ATC at LHR let the folksd in the locality know about the problem (such as those fine men and women in the STAR centre
) they ask for this kind of info from ATC so that they can pass it on.
As ayrprox quite rightly asserts, better to have regretted an action one has taken rather than an action one has not.
