Hi, starting flying short-haul when my children were about 5 and 9. Had my partner and my parent's support (my parents lived next door). Mostly did overnights, leave early in the morning, overnight return home next night. Managed to juggle it alright, but couldn't have done it without the support I had.
Started medium haul (7-9hr flights overseas, which are up to 10 days away) about 3 years ago and had to move away from my home town (and my parents). Have a great husband who works 7am-4pm and his work is quite flexible which helps.
Children are now 14 and 11 and coping really well. I talked to another flight attendant whose father is a flight attendant to see the effect it had on her when she was growing up and she said it was a great lifestyle and she doesn't feel like she missed anything because he was away alot because he always made up for it when he was home.
